Health, Safety &
Studio Etiquette

Last updated: [DD MONTH 2026]

A few simple things keep the studio safe, clean and running on time for everyone. Here’s what to expect from us — and what we ask of you.
As a business with clients on the premises, Bloc has a duty of care under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA) to keep the studio safe so far as is reasonably practicable. These guidelines sit alongside that duty.

1. Arriving

  • ·First class? Arrive 10 minutes early for a machine orientation.
  • ·Otherwise, arrive a few minutes early. For safety, doors may close and latecomers may not be admitted once class has started (about [5] minutes in).
  • ·Let us know as early as you can if you’re running late or need to cancel — see the Cancellations policy.

2. What to wear & bring

  • ·Grip socks are required on the reformer — for hygiene and to stop you slipping. Grab a pair from us if you forget.
  • ·Comfortable, fitted activewear you can move in (nothing with zips or buckles that could catch the machine).
  • ·A water bottle. Bring a small towel if you like.

3. Tell us about your health

Complete your health screen before your first class, and keep us posted if anything changes — injuries, medical conditions, medications, surgery or pregnancy. This helps us adapt classes to you. See our Liability Waiver & Informed Consent.

4. During class

  • ·Follow your instructor’s directions and the safe setup for each exercise (spring settings, straps, footbar).
  • ·Work within your own limits. If something hurts or you feel dizzy, stop and tell your instructor — modifying is always okay.
  • ·Keep phones on silent and away unless you need it for a medical reason.

5. Hygiene & equipment

  • ·Wipe down your reformer and props after use with the wipes / spray provided.
  • ·Please don’t come to class if you’re unwell or contagious — reach out and we’ll help you reschedule.
  • ·Handle springs, straps and the carriage as shown, and flag anything that looks worn or damaged so we can check it.

6. In an emergency

Familiarise yourself with the studio exit. If there’s an emergency, follow your instructor’s directions calmly. A first-aid kit is kept [LOCATION] and the instructor holds current first aid and CPR certification.

7. Age & guests

[Bloc is an adults-only (18+) studio] — or, if under-18s are welcome, they must have guardian consent and a completed health screen. Please don’t bring extra guests or children into the studio space without arranging it with us first, as space and supervision are limited.

8. Parking & the neighbours

Bloc runs from a home-based studio in a residential street. Please park considerately [(parking instructions)], keep noise down when arriving and leaving, and respect our neighbours — it helps us keep the studio here.
