Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 August 2026

This policy explains what information Bloc Pilates collects, why, how we look after it, and your choices. We handle your information under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Bloc Pilates is operated by Ashly Claire Grabski (ABN 39 672 096 334), trading as Bloc Pilates, of 39 Fortescue Ave, Newman WA 6753. For any privacy question or request, email hello@blocpilates.com.

1. What we collect

  • ·Identity & contact — your name, email, phone and emergency contact.
  • ·Health information — your pre-exercise screening answers, injuries, medical conditions and pregnancy. This is “sensitive information” and gets extra protection under the Privacy Act.
  • ·Booking & payment — your class history and membership. Card payments are handled by our booking and payment providers; we never see or store your full card number.
  • ·Website & messages — basic website analytics, and anything you send us by email or Instagram.

2. Why we collect it

  • ·To run your bookings, membership and payments.
  • ·To screen for health risks and adapt classes so you can train safely.
  • ·To contact you about bookings, timetable changes and studio closures.
  • ·To send you studio news and offers, if you’ve opted in — you can opt out any time.
  • ·To meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations.

We only collect your health information with your consent, and we only use it for the reason you gave it to us — keeping you safe in class. We don’t use health information for marketing.

3. Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We share it only as needed with:

  • ·the providers who run our booking, payments, email and website;
  • ·our insurer or advisers, where reasonably necessary — for example after an incident or a claim;
  • ·anyone you ask us to, or where the law requires or authorises it.

Some of these providers — including our booking platform, our payment provider and our website host — store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect your information to a comparable standard.

4. Keeping it secure & how long we keep it

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access — password-protected accounts, access limited to the instructor, and reputable third-party platforms. No system is perfectly secure, but we act quickly if something goes wrong and will notify you and the OAIC of an eligible data breach as required.

We keep your information only as long as we need it, or as long as the law requires — health, tax and insurance records must be kept for a period after you stop training with us — then securely delete or de-identify it.

5. Seeing and correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Email hello@blocpilates.com and we’ll respond within a reasonable time. There’s no charge to ask.

6. Photos & video

We sometimes take photos or video in the studio for promotional purposes. Tell us if you’d prefer not to appear — at any time, including after something is posted — and we’ll leave you out or remove it where we reasonably can. See our Membership Terms.

7. Complaints

If you think we’ve mishandled your information, tell us first so we can put it right. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version always lives here, with the “last updated” date shown above.
